Brad Baker

Brad is a proud member of the Squamish Nation and carries the ancestral name Tsnomot.  Brad has been able to walk in two worlds, with a focus on following his Squamish ways of knowing, while achieving his B.Ed. and M.Ed.

Brad has been an educator for close to 30 years and is currently the Associate Superintendent of Indigenous Education for BC’s Ministry of Education and Child Care.  Beyond his work in the K to 12 system, he is an Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia.  Brad’s leadership roles include being a Board Member for the following:  Canadian Olympic Committee,  ViaSport BC, and Gord Downie – Chanie Wenjack Fund.  He is a proud alumnus of the 2017 Governor General of Canada’s Leadership Conference, where the focus was building a stronger Canada.  He is an Appointed Trustee and the Chair of the Wealth Secretariat for the Squamish Nation.

Nadine Nakagawa

Nadine is an organizer, activist, intersectional feminist, creative writer, social justice fairy, city councillor and the co-founder of the Feminist Campaign School. She lives and works on the unceded and unsurrendered territory of hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ speaking peoples.

Nadine has a Masters Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Communication and Leadership and she is currently taking a Masters in Counselling Psychology. She is learning about and from plants, lives with three fluffy cats, and is a fan of shiitake mushrooms.

Chris Nicholson has been the Superintendent of Schools at School District No.48 since being appointed on November 1st, 2021. Born and raised in the Lower Mainland, Nicholson has worked in public education since beginning his career as a junior high English teacher in Richmond around 29 years ago.

As Superintendent, current initiatives underway include the development of particular anti-racism and anti-ableism policies and maintaining the public confidence that schools are safe places for kids. Nicholson remains committed to ongoing Truth & Reconciliation, SOGI and inclusion through focusing on the Education Plan and its enduring understandings that inclusion is a right, diversity is a strength, and personalization is the way.

Caroline is an education consultant, a certified master practitioner in compassionate systems, a leadership coach, and a former assistant superintendent with over 35 years of experience in K-12 education. Her work focuses on building capacity within the organization to drive lasting and systemic change.

As individuals, organizations, and teams navigate through a profound change, strengthening mental health and wellness, Caroline inspires transformation with strategies that focus on sustaining ourselves, enhancing our relationships, and strategically improving our systems.
